Mountain of a Beans is a café simulator where you play as a stressed-out restaurant owner just trying to get through the day. This is a one player game played with a character sheet, a pencil, a deck of poker cards, way too many sets of polyhedral dice, and maybe some coins if you are feeling fancy (I used coffee beans in the example setup on page 4) otherwise just pencil in the coin amounts.
Each round is played in two phases.
- In the Customer Phase you fulfill customer orders and complete tasks around the restaurant.
- In the Management Phase you tend to your employees, the restaurant, and yourself before the next wave arrives.
When the wandering customer deck is empty or you are too stressed out, the game is over.
