An Untapped Capacity for Violence

An Untapped Capacity for VIOLENCE is a game of Heroic Bloodshed for 1 Director and 1-4 Actors emulating films like John Wick, Hard Boiled, and Taken about men failing to solve problems through unmitigated violence.

Requires: A copy for each player, something to write with, a handful of six-sided dice (d6), and maybe some scrap paper.

Content Warnings: Violence, cursing

Included are rules to create a Hero, solve problems with their skills, commit unrestrained acts of of violence, and consequences for violence. Also included are tables to quickly generate shot locations and extras for your scenes.

This game is made out of a love for the genre but also in criticism of it. If you think characters like John Wick are good guys or further more people you aspire to be, then this game isn't for you. GET FUCKED!

1. Death of Innocents is already written and includes rules for supporting characters, their bonds with the Heroes, and threats specific to them. Along with expanded rules for "collateral damage."

2. Young, Dumb, and Full of Cum explores the homoerotic tension in action films as result of a highly gendered genre in an extreme heteronormative culture. Character development on film often requires closeness and emotional vulnerability with other characters in a way that is wholly absent from the heteronormative male culture in 20th century America that can often be read as queer. This supplement will contain moves and tables to generate scenes which encourage you to lean into the queer interpretation of action movies.

3. Sometimes a goon will "Get Back Up." Sometimes they are more tan what they seem. Sometimes they are A Worthy Opponent. This supplement will include rules for creating an adversary to rival your Hero, moves themed on "Explosive Restraint" and a "Subtext of Yearning" as they repeatedly clash. Perhaps the Hero can appeal to the villain and lead them down their "Path to Redemption."

If I can do all that, maybe I'll get some cash together to make this a bigger thing. The game is free. If you want to throw me some cash, I'll eventually pay someone to make it look sexy.
